LIS Ministries is based in Kapsokwony in Mount Elgon District of the Western Province of the of Kenya Mount Elgon, from which the name of the district is derived, is a dormant volcano that lies on the border between Kenya and Uganda. At 4,320 metres (14,177 feet) high, Mt.Elgon is the second highest mountain in Kenya, and the fourth highest mountain in Africa. It is home to the Kony, a pastoralist sub-tribe of the Kalenjin group and ethnic cousins to the Maasai.

LIS Ministries is an indigenous church ministry registered by the Kenya Government as an independent, non-profit organization. The official registration number is 25530.   It’s a church-based and bible-centered organization.
